Best Yokohama Cherry Blossom Viewing Spots
Yokohama City is one of the most popular day trip destinations from Tokyo. Yokohama offers great option for shopping, dining and entertainments as well as seasonal activities including cherry blossom viewing. There are several amazing cherry blossom viewing spots in Yokohama which are definitely worth visiting from Tokyo.

Minato Mirai 21
Minato Mirai area holds an annual cherry blossom event, Minato Mirai 21 Sakura Festival (みなとみらい21さくらフェスタ) during the cherry blossom blooming season. The main venue for the festival is a 500 m long cherry blossom street lined by 150 cherry trees. Various special events and cherry blossoms light-up at night will be available.
Minato Mirai is a great area to hang out. Enjoy shopping, dining and entertainments along with the magnificent cherry blossom avenue!
Access: Short walk from Minato Mirai Station (Minato Minami Line)

Sankeien Garden
Sankeien Garden (三渓園) is a traditional Japanese landscape garden located in Naka Ward, Yokohama City. The garden was designed by the wealthy silk trader Sankei Hara ( whose real name was Tomitaro Hara), and opened in 1906.
The garden consists with rich nature and several historical buildings, and there are about 300 cherry trees at the site. The light-up event is held during cherry blossom season.
Access: Bus from Yokohama Station, Negishi Station, Sakuragicho Station or Motomachi Chukagai Station to “Sankeien Iriguchi Stop”
Fee: 900 yen
Hours: 9:00~17:00 (Light-up: Sunset~21:00)
Mitsuike Park
Mitsuike Park (三ッ池公園) is a locals’ favourite cherry blossom viewing spots in Yokohama where hundreds of people visit there to have Hanami Party (picnic) during the season. The park has approx 1,600 cherry trees at the vast space of 29.7 ha as well as beautiful rich nature and three large ponds.
The park is known for owning a wide variety of cherry blossoms and the great viewing period as about 80 kinds of cherry trees flourish one by one from mid February to mid April. It’s amazing option for those who miss the peak season of cherry blossoms in Kanto area.
Access: Bus from Tsurumi Station or Shin Yokohama Station to “Mitsuikekoen Kitamon Stop”

Ooka River Promenade
Ooka River Promenade (大岡川プロムナード) is a 3.5 km long walk path along Ooka River where about 500 cherry trees bloom in spring. Cherry blossom festival is held at the site annually with food vendors and special events. The cherry blossoms are lightened up at night by 2,500 lanterns during the season for about 2–3 weeks.
It’s located about 5 mins walk from Keikyu Line Gumyoji Station, which is about 15 min train ride from JR Yokohama Station.
Access: 5 mins walk from Gumyoji Station (Keikyu Line)
