TOKYO BANANA (東京ばな奈), is a well-know Tokyo-based sweet company that offers one of the most popular souvenirs in the city. With a lineup of over 20 different treats, the company is best known for its flagship product, the Tokyo Banana, a fluffy sponge cake shaped like a banana and filled with banana-flavored custard cream.
In Spring 2024 Tokyo Banana will offer the legendary melonpan of Tokyo Banana for a limited time starting from March 1, 2024 (Friday) at the Tokyo Banana store in JR Tokyo Station.
After being gone for 20 years, the famous legendary Melonpan of Tokyo Banana is back. You can only get it at EXPASA Ebina for now, and it’s been super popular since it came back, often selling out. Excitingly, this iconic treat is making its inaugural appearance at JR Tokyo Station.

The bread is soft and fluffy inside, and it has a crunchy cookie-like crust on the outside. Tokyo Banana’s melonpan is famous for its adorable appearance, featuring a moist cookie dough shaped like the iconic Tokyo Banana on the surface. Infused with a delightful banana aroma, this cookie dough offers a soft and fluffy texture, complemented by a cocoa-flavored Danish dough. Inside is filled with plenty of creamy banana custard, the one that Tokyo Banana is famous for, providing a rich and filling center.
The legendary melonpan of Tokyo Banana is presented in a dedicated box with handles, making it convenient to carry and an ideal choice for souvenirs. Individually wrapped, these melon breads are ideal for a quick snack anytime. Available only in sets of three for 1,188 yen, they are sold twice daily at 12 noon and 16:00.
