YORUNOYO, the winter illumination that lights up the city of Yokohama is held annually in Minato Mitai. Don’t miss one of Yokohama’s most spectacular event!
YORUNOYO -YOKOHAMA CROSS NIGHT ILLUMINATION- (ヨルノヨ-ヨコハマ クロス ナイト イルミネーション-) is a special art illumination that can be enjoyed while touring around the port city of Yokohama. In Winter 2023 Yorunoyo will be held from November 27, 2023 (Monday) to January 4, 2024 (Thursday) at Yokohama Shinko Central Square and surrounding area in Minato Mirai. This year, under the theme of “Exploring, Encountering, Blending” the dynamic illumination that makes full use of projection and other techniques collaborating with the urban city scenery will color Yokohama at night in a spectacular way.
Of particular interest is the five-minute program Highlight of Yokohama in which up to 40 facilities, the largest number ever, are linked together with light and music. Yokohama’s waterfront, historical buildings, modern buildings and more. Especially from Osanbashi, which is the main view point, visitors can enjoy a powerful light and sound production.
Also this year’s special attraction the Y-Cube, Japan’s largest interactive projection mapping with over 100 meters, will be in the Shinko Chuo Square. The huge cube interacts with people’s movements, allowing visitors to become a part of the art.
In addition for 2023 a new art light work and sound collaboration will be developed around Yamashita Park, Illumine Yokohama. Created by the world-renowned lighting designer Mikiko Ishii and her daughter Akari Ishii, based in Pari, Illumine Yokohama will illuminate Yamashita Park and surroundings.
