Detective Conan World to be Open at Universal Studios Japan
Universal Studios Japan and Detective Conan Collaborate for Limited-Time Attraction
Universal Studios Japan, the themed-amusement park in Osaka has announced a new collaboration with the legendary Japanese manga/anime series Detective Conan! Detective Conan, also called Case Closed, written by Gosho Aoyama has been famous worldwide for years since it was first serialized in 1994 at Weekly Shonen Sunday and later adapted to TV anime series. On 14 April 2023 a new movie, the 26th in the film series, will be released with the name “Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine”.
To celebrate it, and as a part of the project Universal Cool Japan 2023, “Detective Conan World” the event themed on Detective Conan series will be held at Universal Studios Japan from February 17 (Friday) to July 2 (Sunday), 2023. The event will include Detective Conan attraction for a limited time as well as special food menu and merchandise!
Detective Conan World will feature a real-life escape game “Detective Conan the Escape ~ Black Iron Prologue”, the entertainment restaurant “Detective Conan Mystery Restaurant” and the coaster-style attraction “Detective Conan x Hollywood Dream the Ride: Test Drive.
Detective Conan the Escape ~ Black Iron Prologue is a walk-through real-life escape game that is making a complete comeback after a three-year absence. Visitors can enjoy a completely original story that is the prologue to the latest movie “Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine” and experience the tension of being trapped in a big conspiracy by the “Organization of the Black Sword”, an enemy with whom you have a history. Joining forces with Conan, Haibara, Subaru Okiya and the artificial intelligence”A.I. AGENT” visitors will have to solve the mystery.

The popular restaurant Detective Conan Mystery Restaurant, where visitors can enjoy meals and mystery experiences while watching the live action of popular characters unfolding before their eyes, will be renewed in 2023 with the Great Detective of the West, Heiji Hattori and his childhood friend Kazuha Toyama making their first appearances.
Heiji and Kazuha are visiting the gran opening of the restaurant “Aqua Aura” run by Kazuha’s High School senior when they get caught up in a suspicious incident happening in the neighborhood… Let’s find a clue to solve the incident with Heiji and the others!
In addition the Story Coaster where you can enjoy the attraction while immersing yourself in the story of Detective Conan will also reappear. The story of Detective Conan x Hollywood Dream the Ride: The Gekijo Test Drive is about a test ride of a new car that Dr. Agasa was involved in designing together with the Boy Detectives. However, right after they set off, the car suddenly loses its brakes and begins to run out of control…?
The voices of Conan and Haibara give you the courage to enjoy this thrilling attraction experience.
