Kagoshima
Kagoshima is the prefecture located in the southenmost of the island of Kyushu. Famous for having lots of small islands where human contact is minimal, and untouched nature can be experienced in ways you can’t experience anywhere else in the country. The most famous island is Yakushima. Well known for its Yakusugi (Japanese cedar trees). Some of these trees are estimated to be over thousands years old. Owing to the tropical weather on this island, rocks and trees are covered by moss, giving the forest a somewhat mysterious feel. And if you go even more to the south, you will find Amami Oshima. The island has its hidden beach resort with nice tropical weather and beautiful sandy beaches with emerald-colored ocean.
