Character themed cafes and restaurants have been a huge trend and tourist attraction in Japan for the past couple of years. Today, you can find various kinds of themed cafes and restaurants in collaboration with popular anime/game characters. A brand-new permanent Sanrio themed cafe “SANRIO CAFE Ikebukuro Store” opened on the B1 floor of Ikebukuro Sunshine City, which can be accessed within 8 mins from Ikebukuro Station.
The cafe is divided into two areas: a cafe space with 44 seats and a cafe wagon corner for takeaway. For both eat-in and takeaway, the cafe offers exclusive food and drink menu in collaboration with our favourite Sanrio characters including Hello Kitty, Gudetama, My Melody, Little Twin Stars, Pompompurin and more.
The eat-in menu includes burgers, pancakes, latte art and smoothies which have character prints or shapes. You can get an original drink coaster on each drink order. The takeaway wagon also offers a great selection of Sanrio character themed snacks such as Hello Kitty shaped donuts, daifuku-mochi, crepes and ice cream.
