The NAKED Cherry Blossoms in Shinjuku Gyoen 2023 nighttime cherry blossom event will be held at Shinjuku Gyoen from Friday, March 31 through Sunday, April 23, 2023.

Shinjuku Gyoen (新宿御苑) is one of the biggest national park in Tokyo, located in the business district of Shinjuku. With over 58 hectares and three different types of gardens, the vast garden has about 900 cherry trees in various kinds and is one of Tokyo’s most famous cherry blossom viewing spots. Visitors can enjoy both early and late blooming cherry blossoms. In Spring 2023 Shinjuku Gyoen and the well-known creative company NAKED, INC. are collaborating for the first time.

NAKED Inc. is well-known for its interactive digital art exhibition, specially Flowers by Naked that is held every year from 2016 to 2020 with over 500,000 visitors.

Under the name NAKED Sakura Night Garden at Shinjuku Gyoen 2023, the first collaboration between Shinjuku Gyoen and NAKED, INC. features approximately 900 cherry trees of about 70 varieties blooming in Shinjuku Gyoen that will be lit up according to the variety of cherry blossoms in full bloom. No matter when you come, you can enjoy the magical full bloom of cherry blossoms surrounded by the art of light.

The highlight of the exhibition is SAKURA DANDELION, a new work of the digital art project DANDELION PROJECT by the artist Ryotaro Muramatsu. For Spring 2023 NAKED propose an unique cherry blossom viewing experience weaving together beautifully blooming cherry blossoms and digital art.

Also, during the event period, the kitchen car TREE by NAKED, an experience-based restaurant that fuses food and art created by NAKED, will be on site offering a vegan menus suitable for cherry blossom viewing, such as cherry blossom non-alcoholic cocktails, cherry blossom vegan scones that taste like cherry blossom mochi, and healthy vegan nuggets.
