Yamaguchi Prefecture is located in the western end of Japan’s main island Honshu. Yamaguchi is not a widely known name among foreigners, but there are many attractive hidden gems in it. In the Yamaguchi’s capital city, there are many traditional temples with old Japanese gardens built inside such as Rurikoji Temple and Joeiji Temple. In addition, Iwakuni Castle in the Iwakuni area is built by the daimyo feudal lord who ruled the region during the Edo period. Yamaguchi is proud of its beach resort Tsunoshima Island with the beach of white sand and the emerald green ocean.
