Tokyo Ghoul is set in Tokyo where the weird creatures called Ghouls live in the human society. They look like a normal human but subsist on human flesh as food. The main character Ken Kaneki nearly dies from the attack of a Ghoul, and he survives by transplant ing an organ of the Ghoul.

3. Gantz
Gantz is one of the most recommended anime series for the fans of Attack on Titan. The same-titled action and thriller manga, written by Hiroya Oku, was serialized on Weekly Young Jump in 2000-2013. It was adapted into an anime adaption with two seasons in 2004.
A high school boy Kei Kurono and his old friend Masaru Kato die after being struck by a train to in an effort to rescue a drunken man fallen onto the tracks. They are transported to a room in an apartment and find the Gantz sphere. The black sphere orders them to go and kill aliens living on earth.

4. Seraph of the End
If you love Attack on Titan, Seraph of the End (終わりのセラフ) is a highly recommended anime series. It started as a popular dark-fantasy manga on Jump Square in 2012, and two seasons of an anime adaption was released with 24 episodes in 2015.
Seraph of the End is set in the deserted world, where adults become extinct due to the outbreak of the unknown virus. The surviving children are captured by vampires. The story proceeds with the main character Yuichiro escapes from the underground and decides to fight against the vampires.

Death Note (デスノート) is a famous mystery and thriller manga published on Weekly Shonen Jump between 2003 and 2006, adapted into an anime series with 37 episodes and several live-action movies.
A high schooler Light Yagami picks up a Death Note on which an owner can kill someone by writing his/her name. He kills lots of people who he regards as a bad person with the Death Note. Another main character called L investigate how the people are killed and by who. They battle against each other as they play high-level mind games with their highest intelligence.
Death Note does not depict action scenes but you can enjoy the meaningful and interesting story in the thriller anime as well as Attack on Titan.
