The popular Miyashita Park in Shibuya was renovated in 2020, constructing a whole new three-story building with a shopping mall, fancy restaurants and cafes, a hotel, and even a rooftop park with sports facilities, the highlight of the space. After its first Christmas event in 2022, the new Miyashita Park celebrates Christmas every year. MIYASHITA CHRISTMAS PARK 2024 will run from November 12 to December 25, 2024.
One of the standout features of this year’s event is the return of the DECORTÉ Purple Lightup, a collaboration with the luxury skincare brand DECORTÉ, following its success in 2023.
The display’s centerpiece is a beautifully designed Christmas tree adorned with ornaments inspired by DECORTÉ’s popular Liposome serum. This year, the tree’s design has been updated to give it a more luxurious and elegant look.
In addition to the tree, visitors will find photo spots featuring purple ribbon motifs, perfect for capturing the festive spirit. The purple-themed illuminations will also extend throughout the venue, including the North 2nd and 3rd floors of the Layered Miyashita Park shopping complex, creating a magical atmosphere throughout the entire area.
Miyashita Park in Shibuya offers more than stunning illuminations this holiday season. From November 12 to November 18, 2024, the sequence MIYASHITA PARK hotel will host a special collaboration event with DECORTÉ. Guests can enjoy exclusive product displays and hands-on experiences with DECORTÉ skincare. In addition, the hotel’s café, VALLEY PARK STAND, will feature limited-edition purple desserts and drinks made with blueberries, offering a sweet treat to complement the holiday spirit.
For music lovers, there’s a special three-day event from December 20 to December 22, 2024: LOVE PURPLE MUSIC NIGHT 2024. Held at Shibuya Ward’s Miyashita Park, the event will immerse visitors in a purple-themed environment, with live music performances spanning various genres. It’s a unique opportunity to experience the magic of the season through music and lights.
Every year during Winter in Tokyo they are a large number of Christmas illuminations taking place, and residents that have been living in the city for several years may feel that they are no longer wanting to see some of these events again one more year, but Miyashita Park Christmas Illumination is a recent one so it maybe an exciting new experience!
