60th Anniversary Sanrio Museum Exhibition in Japan 2020

Sanrio Character Museum to be Held in Tokyo and more 

Sanrio is a Japanese company that designs and creates cute and adorable characters such as Hello Kitty, My Melody, Cinnamoroll and Pompompurin, and their licensed products. Over 450 characters have been created by Sanrio so far.

The company has been taking an important role to spread Japanese Kawaii culture around the world. Sanrio characters and their merchandise are highly popular worldwide and a wide range of products are sold including accessories, toys, stationery, clothes, etc.

There are several Sanrio related spots in Japan such as the Sanrio’s theme park “Sanrio Puroland”, character themed cafes/restaurants and official retail stores, which are highly popular tourist attractions among Sanrio character fans.

-Sanrio Exhibition 2020

In 2020, Sanrio is celebrating its 60th anniversary and a special exhibition “60th Anniversary Sanrio Character Museum” will be held in Japan in summer 2020.

The exhibition features various Sanrio characters including the most popular ones such as Hello Kitty, My Melody and Little Twin Stars, ones that have over 40 years history and ones that many of us have nostalgic memories with.

The exhibition displays valuable original drawing, materials and products of Sanrio characters, and some art works which are in collaboration with young and creative Japanese artists. The history of Sanrio since founding, and the foundation and development of Kawaii culture can be discovered at the exhibition.

The Sanrio exhibition will be first held at Roppongi Hills Mori Tower 52F Tokyo City View Sky Gallery in Tokyo in 2020 summer, then touring across Japan. If you are a fan of adorable Sanrio characters, don’t miss a chance to explore the world of Sanrio while travelling in Japan!
