Izu-ei (伊豆栄) is a traditional Unagi (eel) restaurant originally established in mid Edo period. Their significant grilled Unagi dishes hasn’t changed its taste since 100 years ago and been fascinating millions of gourmands. It’s surely the best place to try Unagi dish in Japan.

There are now 4 branches of Izu-ei in Tokyo and three of them are located in Ueno area. The main branch, Umekawa-tei branch and Shinobazu-tei. They are all accessible from Ueno station.
