SUMMER SONIC 2024 in Tokyo and Osaka Lineup and Ticket Info

SUMMER SONIC is one of the biggest music festivals in Japan, which is held in Tokyo and Osaka in summer. Check out the latest announcement of lineup for SUMMER SONIC !!


First of all, what’s Summer Sonic? It’s an annual music festival held in Tokyo and Osaka during summer since 2000. It’s counted as Japan’s two biggest music events along with Fuji Rock Festival which is held in Niigata Prefecture in July. The festival takes place for 2 days in each city (Tokyo and Osaka), usually on the weekend of mid August, and artists play in each city on either first or second day.

Summer Sonic welcomes great musicians of various genre from all around the world from rock to EDM, and the past acts includes numbers of world’s greatest artists like MUSE, The Chemical Brothers, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc.

In 2023, Summer Sonic was held on 19 and 20 August for 2 days in Tokyo and Osaka, featuring a large number of artists including Kendrick Lamar, Liam Gallagher, blur and FALL OUT BOY and more! Moreover, the eve of the festival, SONIC MANIA was also held at the night before Summer Sonic, which they play mainly dance music all night long.

It’s confirmed that Summer Sonic will be back in 2024 summer and the date is 17 and 18 August. Summer Sonic 2024 will have a big change this year as the venue of Osaka site is moving to the Expo ’70 Commemorative Park from Maishima Sonic Park. The performing acts will be announced later this year so stay tuned!
