Fukuoka is the prefecture containing the largest city in all Kyushu. It is well-known for its transportation hub, and there is a train station inside the airport that can take you to the city in 10 minutes. One of the most exciting aspects of this city is its regional food. Especially Hakata, which is in the bay area of Fukuoka, is well known within the gourmet community. Tonkotsu Ramen (a pork bone broth Ramen) and Mentaiko (spicy cod roe) are just some of the regional foods that are extremely popular nationwide. Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine is the grand head of 12,000 shrines located all around the country that worship for Sugawara No Michizane, the god of study.
