Ehime is located in the northwest of Shikoku. There are 26 temples out of 88 designated as the path of the Shikoku Pilgrimage in Ehime. Matsuyama, the biggest economic city in Shikoku, is famous for the one of the most famous traditional onsen towns in Japan Dogo Onsen. People come to visit this hot spring town from all over the country. Beside Matsuyama Castle symbolizing Ehime, there are many other historical buildings that reflects Japanese Sengoku Period (civil war time), such as Imabari Castle and Uwajima Castle.
