Halloween has become one of the biggest and the most celebrated seasonal events in Japan today, and along with Halloween events, there are various Halloween theme products sold at stores during the season. Especially, many cafes and restaurants offer limited-edition Halloween theme food, desserts and drinks using seasonal ingredients, and they are only available this time of the year. In this article, I’m sharing best Halloween treats in Japan in 2020!

-Krispy Kreme Doughnuts
Halloween limited doughnuts, “MONSTER HARVEST” is available at Krispy Kreme stores in Japan until 1 November 2020. The cute and photo-worthy Halloween theme doughnuts are made with autumn ingredients such as pumpkin and sweet potato. Doughnuts are available per piece (240 yen + TAX~) or in a Halloween edition box (6pc or 12pc).

-Baskin Robbins
Baskin Robbins (more commonly called “thirty-one” in Japan) released new ice cream flavours for Halloween in collaboration with Minions. A variety of spooky but cute Minion theme ice cream can be enjoyed only for a limited time until 31 October 2020.

-Starbucks Coffee
Starbucks Japan’s Halloween limited beverage in 2020 is Autumn Sweet Potato Frappuccin, adding more autumn spices to its autumn-limited Daigaku Imo Frappuccino. It’s blended with glazed sweet potato and topped with sweet potato, pumpkin and chestnut chips. Starbucks Japan also releases limited-time Halloween theme merchandise including mug, tumbler and beverage card.

The popular Japanese doughnuts shop, Mister Donut has turn their favourite doughnuts into colourful and spooky Halloween theme. The line-up includes Pon de Ring painted as a mummy and French Cruller disguised as a cat. Let’s celebrate Halloween with the adorable and delicious doughnuts monsters this autumn!

-Pokemon Cafe
Pokemon Cafes in Tokyo and Osaka are offering limited time Halloween dishes, presented from the popular free download software Pokemon Cafe Mix. The Mimikyu Halloween Meal (3,309 yen) is served with Cheese Doria, 2-layer fruit juice and face mask case. Make sure to book the seat in advance!

The natural doughnut store, Floresta is teaming up with one of the most popular Sanrio characters, Cinnamoroll for 2020 Halloween. Cinnomoroll Halloween Doughnuts (450 yen + TAX) is available with 2 variations: Cinnamon and Cappuccino at Floresta stores across Japan and its online store.

-Kawaii Monster Cafe x Alice’s Fantasy Restaurant
Two of popular themed cafes/restaurants in Tokyo, KAWAII MONSTER CAFE and Alice’s Fantasy Restaurant are making a special collaboration for Halloween in 2020 autumn, offering super colourful and photo-worthy limited dishes only until 31 October 2020. Some items are available at both KAWAII MONSTER CAFE and three of Alice’s Fantasy Restaurants (Ginza, Shinjuku and Ikebukuro).
