What is JR Joban Line?
The JR Joban Line (常磐線) is a railway line JR East operates. It connects Tokyo and the Tohoku region, the northeast region of the main island of Honshu. The Joban Line train services originate in Shinagawa or Ueno before they reach Nippori Station, the official start of the Joban Line.
Many stations under the Joban line continue past Iwanuma towards Tohoku main line way to Sendai and round about the aligned of the Chiba, Ibaraki, and Fukushima Prefecture. There are four main services on the Joban line which are the Express, the Suburban, the Special Rapid, and the Limited Express.
