While her many previous works were produced under Kyoto Animation, this time Kimi no Iro is a collaboration between Science SARU and Naoko Yamada. The quality of this production team was recently proven with the 2022 anime series The Heike Story. The screenplay is by Reiko Yoshida, known for Violet Evergarden.
