What to expect at PIGNETO’s 90 Mins Free Flow and CANAPE

If you’re wondering what it is like to experience this 90 Minute Free Flow and CANAPE course, here is an overview of what you can expect when visiting PIGNETO during a clear summer evening.

Arrival at the 39th floor

After arriving at the hotel, you take the elevator to the 39th floor. As soon as you get off the elevator, you are greeted by the spectacular and uninterrupted view of the Imperial Palace and the Tokyo skyline.

Walking past the elevator hall, PIGNETO is at the end of the corridor. If you choose to go at the early hours of this course (3~ 4 p.m.), it will be before the restaurant gets crowded due to Dinner time.

Walking down the long corridor to the rooftop terrazza, you will see the different types of seats that PIGNETO offers, from window-side seats and counter seats to more private sofa-type seats. No matter where you sit, the view from the large windows is spectacular.

Once you get to the rooftop terrazza, the view becomes even better. The terrazza is a spacious area decorated with ornamental plants and a fountain.

From here, you can see the Imperial Palace, Tokyo Tower, the Budokan, and even Mt Fuji! Airplanes heading to Haneda Airport pass by every few seconds at just the right distance (close enough to appreciate them but far enough not to be noisy).

After a few minutes indulging in the views, you can head to your seats and order the 90-Minute Free Flow and CANAPE.

You can start the course with the Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Brut, which is the Champagne this course offers.

Although you can feel a nice breeze at this height, it can be pretty warm outside, so it feels nice to have that first sip of cold Champagne.

The Canape is a daily special that includes three types of Canapes.

*They also offer alternative toppings if you can’t eat certain foods.

In addition to the Champagne, the Free Flow also includes three different types of wine and original cocktails for you to enjoy.

One thing you should also take into account is the time of the sunset. The sunset time will differ Depending on the season you choose to visit. In Summer, sunset will happen past 6 p.m.

Overall

Ultimately, I must say that the whole experience was just perfect. Refreshing cold Champagne accompanied by delicious Canapes, slightly hot weather, cold breeze, and an uninterrupted view of Tokyo city—all this for 7,500 yen seemed like a great deal, in my opinion.

As I mentioned, you can’t make reservations for the rooftop terrazza because whether or not you can dine and drink there depends on the weather conditions. I strongly recommend you remember this hidden gem. The Imperial Palace and its surroundings have many things to do, so when you inevitably visit this area during your trip to Tokyo, if the weather conditions are good, why not take 90 minutes to enjoy Tokyo from a different perspective?

Born and raised in Costa Rica, I started living in Tokyo from college. I love traveling within Japan & around the world. Since I wasn’t born in Japan, I know the cultural impact that you can get when visiting Japan for the first time and what you might be worried about before your trip. And I’ve lived long enough to somewhat understand the nuances of the Japanese culture that make this country such an attractive place to visit. Hopefully I can provide to you both the information you’re looking for and the information you didn’t know you needed to know.
