Super Mario Themed Christmas Event in Tokyo
A winter event in collaboration with Nintendo’s Super Mario “MARUNOUCHI BRIGHT HOLIDAY 2024 ~LET’S PLAY in MARUNOUCHI with SUPER MARIO~” will be held around the Marunouchi area including Marunouchi, Otemachi and Yurakucho from 14 November 2024 to 13 January 2025.
Marunouchi is one of the most popular spots for winter illumination in Tokyo, featuring a variety of festive contents during winter such as the famous Marunouchi Illumination and Marunouchi Street Park.
This year, a special event MARUNOUCHI BRIGHT HOLIDAY will collaborate with characters from the Super Mario series, decorating various venues in the Marunouchi area and offering various contents that can be enjoyed during Christmas and the New Year holidays.
At the main venue, Maru Cube on the first floor of Marunouchi Building, a dynamic, 13m tall original object Super Mario Power-Up Illumination will be displayed, where items fly up from the question block that Mario hits. At night, a lighting show will be held every 15 mins, with music from the Super Mario series and fantastic lights.
In addition, five more light displays inspired by various Mario characters will be featured throughout the Marunouchi area!
At the Atrium on the third floor of Shin-Marunouchi Building, you will find a photo spot where you can stand on the theater-style stage and take a memorable with Peach from “Princess Peach Showtime”. And at Marunouchi Oazo, visitors can enjoy “Yoshi and Friends’ Colorful Bright Zone”.
Luigi and Toad also have their own displays.
Super Mario Stamp Rally
Moreover, visitors can participate in a Stamp Rally and get original aun unique Mario-themed presents!
To get started, you’ll need to purchase a stamp book for just 200 yen at the designated stores. Once you have your stamp book, explore the 9 special locations set up around the Marunouchi area. At each spot, you’ll find stamps featuring your favorite characters!
As you visit each location, stamp your book with the character stamps in the designated spaces. Once you’ve collected all 9 stamps, head to the prize redemption area to receive your completion stamp and claim your special gift. It’s a fun way to discover Marunouchi while collecting exclusive stamps and prizes!

During the event, Super Mario merchandise will be also available only at shops in the Marunouchi area, as well as special food and drinks from the MARUNOUCHI BRIGHT HOLIDAY 2024 limited menu.
