Jujutsu Kaisen Cafe in Japan 2023

Jujutsu Kaisen (呪術廻戦) is a popular Japanese manga series written by Gege Akutami. The dark fantasy manga has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since 2018, and the series has sold over 80 million copies so far, making it one of the top selling manga series of all time.

The TV anime series of Jujutsu Kaisen comprising 24 episodes was produced by MAPPA and first aired in October 2020 until March 2021. The animated film Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie was also released in December 2021, becoming the the second highest-grossing film of the year in Japan. The popularity of Jujutsu Kaisen is not only in Japan as the film achieved to be the sixth highest-easing anime film of all time worldwide after Demon Slayer- The Movie: Mugen Train, three Ghibli films and Your Name.

In July 2023, the second season of the Jujutsu Kaisen TV anime series, which many fans have been waiting for, was just released. To celebrate this occasion, the Jujutsu Kaisen themed cafe will open for a limited time, not only in one location but in 4 venues in 3 cities, Tokyo (Harajuku and Shinjuku), Osaka and Nagoya during summer.

The Jujutsu Kaisen Cafe will adopt the theme of the second season of the Jujutsu Kaisen TV anime, “Kaigyoku and Gyokusetsu” (means “Hidden Talent and Premature Death” in Japanese) with the stylish and sophisticated atmosphere featuring illustrations exclusively drawn for the cafe and the cool colour contrast.

The cafe menu features food and desserts inspired by some of the memorable scenes and characters from the series, as well as summery cold drinks inspired by the character’s image colors. In addition, there will be a wide range of original merchandise and some special gifts for visitors, featuring the illustration by MAPPA as well as the cafe-limited illustration.
