Located in the heart of Tokyo, Hibiya is a popular area among Tokyoites. Hibiya Park for example is a recurring site for different events throughout the year.
The illumination event “HIBIYA Magic Time Illumination 2023” is held in the Hibiya area, including Tokyo Midtown Hibiya from November 16,2023 (Thu) to February 14 (Wed), 2023.
In the 2023 edition, the event attracted approximately 4.2 million visitors. And in winter 2023, Hibiya Magic Time Illumination is back on its 5th anniversary. Under the concept of “magical moments”, the Christmas illumination event is adding color throughout the Hibiya area, including Tokyo Midtown Hibiya, Hibiya Nakadori Avenue, and Hibiya Chante. The three main areas of focus are the Hibiya Area Illumination, Hibiya Winter Square, and Park View Winter Garden.
The Hibiya Area Illumination gives light to Hibiya Nakadori Avenue and the Tokyo Midtown Hibiya area, creating the illusion that the entire town is enveloped in magical light, in accordance with the BEST WISHES theme! In addition various decorations will be installed in the three areas, as Christmas trees that will be illuminated with a different color LED, creating a space that is more colorful and magical.
For example, in the Hibiya Winter Square located in the Hibiya Steps Plaza and Grand Staircase area of Tokyo Midtown Hibiya, visitors can enjoy seven Christmas trees symbolizing the BEST WISHES theme and full-color illumination shining in anniversary colors.
Even during the daytime hours, visitors can enjoy a Christmas-like space decorated with LED lights and colorful flowers. The space is colorful and festive both day and night.
Last but not least, the Park View Garden on the 6th floor of Tokyo Midtown Hibiya is a hidden spot with a spectacular night view of Hibiya Park, the Imperial Palace Garden, and Hibiya Street! In the Park View Winter Garden, the entire lawn and garden are decorated with white-based illumination inspired by the Milky Way. People can relax while enjoying the romantic night view.
