Kyoto’s autumn season offers a stunning display of color, with the city’s temples and gardens covered in rich reds, oranges, and yellows. From late October to early December, Kyoto becomes a beautiful scene of fall splendor. Enjoy the mild weather and special events like illuminated night views and seasonal festivals.
In autumn 2024, Kyoto will host the NAKED GARDEN ONE KYOTO art project by NAKED, INC. Running from September 14 to December 8, this event will feature nine locations around the city, blending NAKED’s digital art with Kyoto’s traditional charm.

One of the locations this year will be Nishi Honganji, which is making its debut. In 2024, Nishi Honganji will celebrate the 30th anniversary of its World Heritage Site designation with a spectacular autumn light-up event organized by NAKED, INC.
From October 1 to October 16, visitors will have the unique opportunity to experience the historic site in a new light. This event, titled World Heritage Site 30th Anniversary and 800th Anniversary of the Founding of the Risshō Kōshō: NAKED Light of Nishi Honganji 2024 Autumn Special Opening will feature vibrant digital art projections and colorful illuminations, including the chance to view the usually closed national treasure, Hifun-kaku.

Guests can explore various aspects of Nishi Honganji’s rich history and culture through different ticket options. Standard tickets and special access tickets are available, including entry to the private “Shoin” and a combination experience of digital art and tea at “Hifun-kaku.”
Additionally, a premium dining experience will be offered, featuring Gagaku performances on the national treasure Shoin stage, paired with exquisite dishes from a renowned Kyoto restaurant. This exclusive Premium Dining event will be limited to 20 guests per day on select dates.
