One of the most popular celebrations in Japan during summer is the Fireworks Festival (Hanabi in Japanese) which there are many events held from July and August( Obon ) to September.
This summer tradition began in the Edo period when people wore the national Japanese Yukata costume. Fireworks symbolize hope, drive away evil spirits, and bring good luck. Currently, some Japanese or even foreign tourists wear Yukata during the fireworks festival to experience the traditional Japanese fireworks and enjoy some activities in the event such as shows, entertainment, and summer foods and drinks.

Senshu Yume Fireworks (Sea side Festival)
One of Osaka’s largest seaside fireworks displays held in Hamadera Park on the 2nd of June. The early summer fireworks apart from the famous Senshu Fireworks Festival take place every August. Featuring a colorful and spectacular display of fireworks with almost 1500 fireworks light up in the sky.

The Tenjin Festival is one of the most famous and major festivals in Osaka which is also known as the Fire and Water Festival. The festival features processions of boats along the Okawa River with more than 3000 fireworks displays that bring vitality and life to the festival.
In Japanese culture, the Tenjin Festival is celebrated to honor the deity of learning. It is held annually at the end of July with nearly 1 million people traveling to witness the event.

The 36th Naniwa Yodogawa Fireworks Festival
The Naniwa Yodogawa Fireworks Festival is one of the well-known summer fireworks celebrations and annually held in Osaka where many tourists come to witness the massive and breathtaking display of fireworks.
