1. Kyoto Kit-Kats
Kit-Kat might be already on your souvenir list when you plan to visit Japan but if you are visiting Kyoto, the local flavour of Kit-Kats is something you should definitely shop. Flavours of “Uji-Matcha”, Kyoto’s traditional sweets “Yatsuhashi” and another significant tea from Kyoto “Hojicha” are limitedly available in Kyoto!
2. UCHU Wagashi
UCHU Wagashi serves traditional Japanese confection called Rakugan, using Wasanbon, the finest sugar in Japan. They give a pop kick to the traditional sweets and made it very cute and colourful.

3. Kitsune Senbei (キツネせんべい)
Kitsune Senbei is sold at Inariya in the site of the most visited shrine in Kyoto, Fushimi Inari Taisha. The cracker is the shape of fox which is the symbol of this shrine as the servants of the gods.

4. Kyo Baum (京ばあむ)
Kyo Baum is baumkuchen cake made with Tonyu (tofu milk) and the dough mixed with Kyoto’s finest matcha and sencha tea. This has been the best selling souvenir in Kyoto in a last couple of years! Kyo Baum can be found at many souvenir stores in Kyoto.
5. Hozui (ほうずい)
The most adorable sweets ever! This animal faced sweets are sold at Kyoto Marun which mainly produces cute shaped and colourful sweets. The shop is located in Kyoto’s shopping district “Ninenzaka”

6. Nakamura Tokichi Matcha&Hoji Tea Chocolate (中村藤吉抹茶&ほうじ茶チョコレート)
The long established green tea store Nakamura Tokichi was originally founded in 1854. As well as serving finest green tea, the store offers several matcha flavoured sweets such as cookies, cakes, jelly but their signature sweets must be Matcha& Hojicha rich chocolate.

7. Yatsuhashi (八つ橋)
Yatsuhashi is a famous regional products of Kyoto. It is made from glutinous rice flour, sugar and cinnamon. Both eaten with baked or raw stuffed with red bean paste. Yatsuhashi can be found at almost every souvenir shop in Kyoto!
8. Itoh Kyuemon Uji Matcha Chocolate (伊藤久右衛門 生チョコレート)
Itoh Kyuemon is one of the most famous tea shops in Kyoto, producing a variety of green tea products using Kyoto’s finest Uji Matcha. Uji Matcha Chocolate is their best-selling sweets, the rich ganache chocolate that melts down in your mouth.
9. Kyoto no Koibito (京都の恋人)
Shiroi Koibito (White Lover) is a famous souvenir cookie from Hokkaido, but Kyoto made their version “Kyoto no Koibito”. While the original White Lover uses white chocolate sandwiched between cookies, Kyoto no Koibito uses Matcha flavoured chocolate.
10. Mametomi Honpo Four Season Konpeito (豆富本舗 金平糖四季)
Kompeito is a traditional Japanese sugar candy. The long-established confectionery in Kyoto, Mametomi Honpo creates a beautiful and colourful assort of Konpeito candy, representing four seasons in Japan.
