There are numbers of beer gardens in Tokyo which hotels, restaurants and department stores offer on their open roof-tops and terraces. Here, let me introduce 7 best beer gardens in Tokyo with unique concepts and extraordinary locations.
1. WILD BEACH TOKYO SKY RESORT SHINJUKU
Season: from March 20th (last year)
WILD BEACH TOKYO SKY RESORT SHINJUKU (ワイルドビーチ) is a cafe with the concept of “BEACH in the town”. That’s why 15 tons of beach sand is brought to spread all over the roof top of Luminest, a youngster shopping mall in Shinjuku. There are also beach beds, sofas and pink parasols on the beach.
You will surely feel as if you were on the beach even though you are in the central town.
The cafe is divided into three sections: Beach Cafe, BBQ Garden and Glamping Terrace. You can drink and have French BBQ food at any sections, but BBG Garden and Glamping Terrace are especially recommended to those who want to enjoy BBQ in earnest. Just experience the photogenic beer garden!!

2. BBQ Beer Garden Ablaze by Hilton Tokyo Odaiba

Want to enjoy drinking unlimited beer on the shore of Tokyo Bay? Hilton Tokyo Odaiba offers the nice beer garden named BBQ Beer Garden Ablaze (バーベキュービアガーデン アブレイズ) on the waterfront area of Tokyo Bay in this summer. The renowned hotel serves quality food including selected beef, pork sparerib, bacon, chicken kebab and so on in a BBQ style.
In addition to the fine dishes, you can enjoy all-you-can-drink deals with beer, wine, whiskey and sparkling wine. The beer garden allows you to have open-air seats overlooking Tokyo Bay and the area’s symbol Rainbow Bridge. You can view the bridge lit up in the evening. Of course, you don’t need to take any equipment for BBQ to the beer garden.

3. MATSUYA GINZA Utsukushikunaru Beer Garden
Season: April 27th to May 6th/ May 24th to September 30th (last year)
The fancy beer garden Utsukushikunaru Beer Garden (松屋銀座 美しくなるビアガーデン) is located on the roof top of the classy department store Matsuya Ginza. The theme of the beer garden is “Good for Beauty” which the name of the “Utsukushikunaru” means in Japanese.
A variety of healthy food is served, including salad, BBQ food, green curry, dessert and some dishes with Japanese superfood Tofu. The tofu is made by Sagamiya, a well-established tofu maker. As well as the delicious tastes, their dishes are quite good-looking and photogenic!
The beer garden is highly recommended to ladies who take care of their health. There are 243 seats (196 Standard/36 High Class/11 VIP Sofa). The rate of course menu with 7 dishes with all you can drink is JPY5,500.

4. Green Tea Beer Garden
Season: June 1st to September 30th (last year)
Green Tea Beer Garden (抹茶ビアガーデン) is held by Green Tea Restaurant 1899, produced by Hotel Ryumeikan Tokyo which has over 100 years history. The specialty of the restaurant is Japanese tea.
What you should definitely try there is green tea beer, which literally consists of beer and green tea mixed and has the bitter flavor of each ingredient. The menu of all you can drink includes the green tea beer, green tea wine, tea beer and so on.
Japanese tea is also used in dishes such as sausages, karaage (Japanese fried chicken), and grilled potato. Eating vegetables with a green tea dip is popular among Tokyoites, too.
32 outdoor terrace seats and 48 seats inside are set. The course menu with 13 dishes and all you can drink for 2 hours cost only JPY3,500.

6. BARBACOA Beer Garden
Season: May 25th to September 30th (last year)
BARBACOA (バルバッコア), Brazilian style BBQ Churrasco restaurant, launched their beer garden situated within 1 min walking distance from Shinagawa Station. At BARBACOA, meat and vegetables on long skewers are grilled with the oven.
Delicious Brazilian style BBQ such as grilled Picanha (special beef rump steak), Harami steak, pineapples, etc, and Brazilian alcohols such as Caipirinha and Batida de Coco can be enjoyed in the heart of Tokyo.
Barbacoa Course dishes are available for JPY3,500 and 2-hour all you can drink for JPY1,500. You can experience the “Brazilian night” with Churrasco at BARBACOA Beer Garden.

Takao Beer Mount (高尾山ビアマウント) is located at the 500 meters high point of Mt.Takao. You can drink beer viewing various sides of downtown scenery around the mountain: the morning view, the sunset view just before 7PM and night view with billions of town lights in the three prefectures Tokyo, Saitama and Kanagawa.
There are over 30 dishes of Japanese, Western and Chinese food and lots of alcohol and soft drinks. This is the chance to try Japanese beers like Asahi, Kirin, Suntory and Sapporo.
International staff can help you in English and Chinese. All you can eat and drink for 2 hours for JPY3,500.
