Tom and Jerry is an American cartoon franchise and series created in 1940 by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera who also produced The Flintstones, The Huckleberry Hound Show, The Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, The Smurfs, and Yogi Bear. The series features short anime films about the rivalry between a cat named Tom and a mouse named Jerry, and their never-ending chases and battles have been admired by kids and adults across the world over the past 80 years.
In 2021, Tom and Jerry’s live-action/computer-animated film “Tom & Jerry: The Movie” will be released, and to celebrate this occasion, the special collaboration cafe will open in 4 cities in Japan (Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Okinawa) for a limited time.
The pop and fun Tom and Jerry cafe with the theme of Jerry’s favourite cheese will have an interior that portrays the art of Tom and Jerry chasing after as if they popped out of the anime world. The cafe’s special menu includes various cheese dishes and character theme food and drinks. There will be also cafe’s original merchandise and special gifts for visitors with pre-booking.
