Yokohama Chinatown: Best Place to Eat out in Yokohama City
Yokohama Chinatown (横浜中華街) is located in Yokohama city, Kanagawa prefecture which is less than 1 hour away from Tokyo. It’s the largest Chinatown in Japan developed over 150 years ago since the port of Yokohama has first opened for foreign trades. Over 250 Chinese shops and restaurants are lined in a colourful and crowded streets which glow at night with red lantern and vivid neon lights.
It’s a very popular tourist destination in Yokohama to eat out and feel the deep Chinese culture. Visitors can enjoy Chinese restaurants and street food and stroll down the streets with chaotic and lively atmosphere. During Chinese New Year period, special events are held at Chinatown.
Yokohama Chinatown is located near Kannai and Ishikawacho Stations, only a few stops away from JR Yokohama Station and Minato Mirai area.
