Frozen is an animation film released by Disney in 2014 (2013 in Japan), inspired by the tale of the Snow Queen featuring Elsa the Snow Queen and her sister Anna embarking on an adventure far away from the kingdom of Arendelle.

Frozen caused a massive social phenomena across the world. The film achieved significant commercial success, earning over $1.2 billion in worldwide box office revenue, including $400 million in the United States and Canada and $247 million in Japan. It ranked as the highest grossing film of the year, and made it to the third highest-grossing film in Japan (after Spirited Away (2001) and Titanic (1997)) at the time.

The song from the film, “Let It Go” by Idina Menzel, has also gained international recognition with numerous covers being recorded in different languages and sold over 10 million copies. Frozen won two Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song (“Let It Go”).
