Caretta Shiodome Winter Illumination is one of the most popular winter illumination events in Tokyo, collaborating with Disney movies!
Caretta Shiodome (カレッタ汐留) is a 47-story complex building which consists of shops, cafes, restaurants and cultural facilities. It’s located in Shiodome and Shimbashi area and very easy to access from Ginza and Tsukiji area.
Caretta Shiodome is one of the most popular spots in Tokyo during winter as it hosts gorgeous winter illumination event that attracts over half a million visitors every year. In the past years, the illumination at Caretta Shiodome has collaborated with popular Disney movies such as “Beauty and the Beast” in 2017, “Frozen” and “Tangled” in 2018 and “Aladdin” in 2019. The illumination displays the dramatic light show with special themes and the soundtrack of each movies, featuring over 250,000 LED lights.
Along with the illumination, there are several special exhibit sites at Caretta Shiodome, display exclusive items from the movies.
Most of the winter illuminations in Tokyo will end around the Christmas season, however, the Caretta Shiodome Winter Illumination is a long-running event that is available from mid November until Valentine’s Day in the following year!
