Aoyama Cemetery Cherry Blossoms

Best Places to See Cherry Blossoms in Tokyo: Aoyama Cemetery Cherry Blossoms

Aoyama Cemetery or Aoyama Reien (青山霊園) is known as one of nation’s oldest public cemeteries. It’s also one of the most popular places for cherry blossom viewing in Tokyo. Aoyama Cemetery is located in Aoyama area, which is accessible from many popular touristy areas in Tokyo such as Shibuya, Harajuku and Roppongi. The promenades at the cemetery are lined by numerous cherry trees and displays wonderful spring scenery during the season.

Even if Aoyama Cemetery is located in the prime location, no festivals nor stalls are available at the cemetery, and it’s a perfect spot to enjoy the pleasant view of cherry blossoms quietly. It’s a graveyard so watching cherry blossoms respectfully is a must.
