Best Night Pools in Tokyo 2024 Summer

Swimming pool is one of top summer attractions in Japan, where you can make a splash and beat the heat during extremely hot and humid Japanese summer.

Several hotels in Tokyo have open-air swimming pools on their rooftops, which are usually privilege to hotel guests, but also open to public at night only during summer. Those “Night Pool” have been a huge trend in Tokyo especially among young people, which often features bars, music with DJs, colourful decoration and lights. Some hotels also offers a stunning night view of the city from the rooftop.

In this article, I’m introducing some of the top venues for night pool events in Tokyo. Let’s enjoy lively pool party and cool off with cocktails and champagnes while dipping in a water in a hot summer night!

ANA InterContinental Tokyo

ANA InterContinental Tokyo (ANAインターコンチネンタルホテル東京) is hosting a seasonal pool event, the “Poolside Lounge with Moët & Chandon”, creating a world of Moët & Chandon with white deck chairs, parasols and photo booths with a gold crown design. At the Poolside Snack, a variety of snacks that go with champagne are served, as well as shaved ice and smoothies. Enjoy a romantic night pool experience while enjoying a stunning night city view.

Hotel New Otani Tokyo

Hotel New Otani Tokyo (ホテルニューオータニ) is one of the first hotels in Japan that started a night pool event as it hosted their first night pool party in 1999. The spacious outdoor swimming pool is surrounded by the hotel’s famous Japanese garden, and delicious food and drinks are served at the poolside dining. The pool is open in day time, too but colourful lights and music will be available from 18:00. Moreover, it will be exclusively open until 24:00 for 3 days in August, hosting a “Midnight Pool” event.

Tokyo Prince Hotel

Tokyo Prince Hotel (東京プリンスホテル) is hosting the CanCam Night Pool during summer in collaboration with the popular Japanese fashion magazine, CanCam. The garden pool is decorated with colourful items and lights, making a cute and instagram-worthy space. A wide variety of snacks and drinks are available at the kitchen car.

Shinagawa Prince Hotel

Shinagawa Price Hotel (品川プリンスホテル) is located only 2 mins walk from Shinagawa Station, and offers various entertainment facilities within or nearby such as aquarium, cinema, bowling and event hall. The hotel has two swimming pools, an outdoor pool that allows you to enjoy the holiday ambience in an open-air space, and a glass-walled indoor pool which is suitable for all weather conditions. Their night pool is exclusively open during summer, with fascinating lights and music away from the hustles and bustles of the city.

Grand Nikko Tokyo Odaiba

Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba (グランドニッコー東京 台場) is a resort hotel located by Tokyo Bay in Odaiba. The hotel’s terrace pool the Grand Blue offers the stunning view of the ocean and the Rainbow Bridge. As the sun sets, you can enjoy a luxurious moment by the terrace pool, watching the Tokyo scenery change from dusk to night.

Hilton Tokyo Bay

Hilton Tokyo Bay (ヒルトン東京ベイ), an official hotel of Tokyo Disney Resort opens their spacious garden pool for a limited time during summer. The 50m long outdoor pool is surrounded by a deep green Japanese garden and there’s also a 50cm deep children’s pool. A wide variety of food and drinks are served at the pool side bar, including burger, fried chicken, shaved ice and original cocktails.
