Best Places to See Cherry Blossoms in Tokyo: Inokashira Park

Inokashira Park or Inokashira Onshi Koen(井の頭恩賜公園) is one of the most popular places to see cherry blossoms in Tokyo. The park is located in Kichijoji area on the western Tokyo. Kichijoji area has been popular in recent years as Tokyo’s best kept secret as numbers of hipsters’ favourite cool and stylish cafes, restaurants and shops gather in this area.

The vast park is home to about 500 cherry trees and about half of them are planted around the large pond. During the season, the cherry blossoms flourish and displays the spectacular view. Rental boat is available and visitors enjoy paddling on the large pond surrounded by pink cherry blossoms. The cherry blossoms are illuminated at night during the season. Some of cherry blossoms at Inokashira Park is late blooming and can be enjoyed till mid-late April. After the full bloom season, the fallen petals covers the pond in pink and it’s also very beautiful.
