High-Quality yet Affordable, Best Sushi Restaurants in Tsukiji Market, Tokyo
Tsukiji Fish Market has been relocated to Toyosu now, but there are still numbers of great restaurants. At Tsukiji Jogai Market (Tsukiji Outer Market), restaurants and shops remain at the same location and run their business same as before relocation. Tsukiji is still the best area to taste the fresh and high quality seafood products, especially Sushi and Donburi (seafood on rice bowl) dishes.
Today, I have picked best Sushi restaurants in Tsukiji area, serving amazing quality Sushi dishes, but pretty affordable (under $30 (3,000 yen)), but offer amazing quality.

1. Sushi Zanmai, Honten Tsukiji
Sushi Zanmai (すしざんまい) is a famous sushi chain in Japan that has numbers of outlets across the country and a few of them are located in Tsukiji area, Tokyo. The main branch of Sushi Zanmai is situated at Tsukiji Outer Market and it’s the very first Sushi Zanmai store opened in Japan back in 1990. Sushi Zanmai Tsukiji store is open 24 hours, everyday and offers high quality sushi with affordable price. There is plenty of choice on their menu including ala carte nigiri sushi, set meal, donburi (seafood on rice bowl), rolls and some grilled and fried dishes. This foreign-friendly sushi restaurant has an English menu with instructions showing how to correctly eat sushi and donburi dishes.

2. Harenohi Shokudo
Hare no hi Shokudo (ハレの日食堂) is a sushi restaurant serving mainly kaisen don (seafood on rice bowl). Their menu consists of a variety of kaisen don dishes with the prices ranging around 2,000 to 4,000 yen. The kaisen don is served with a generous amount of fresh seasonal ingredients such as tuna, sea urchin, salmon and prawns. The colourful and satisfying kaisen don is highly recommended as you can taste a variety of fish at once!

3. Sushi Dai
Sushi Dai (すし大) is one of the most popular sushi restaurants in Tsukiji area, offering the high-quality sushi made with selected fresh seafood ingredients brought from Toyosu Fish Market every morning. The sushi set meals at Sushi Dai is served with assorted nigiri sushi, rolled sushi, rolled egg omelette and miso soup and cost around 2,000~4,000 yen. Comparing to many other high-end sushi restaurants in the neighbourhood, Sushi Dai definitely offers excellent value for the price. Sushi Dai is always crowded during lunch and dinner time, and usually there is a long waiting queue, but it’s totally worth waiting!
