Wahaha Fugetsu Shibuya: Legendary Okonomiyaki Restaurant from Osaka

Wahaha Fugetsudo: Authentic Osaka Okonomiyaki in Shibuya, Tokyo

Okonomiyaki is a popular Japanese food often described as Japanese savory pancake or Japanese pizza. It’s well known as the signature dish in Osaka and Hiroshima, but there are hundreds of places to enjoy authentic and delicious Okonomiyaki dishes within Tokyo, especially there are many of them in Shibuya district.

One of the most popular Okonomiyaki restaurants in Tokyo, Wahaha Fugetsu(わっはっはっ風月) is situated in the heart of Shibuya, only a minute walk away from JR Shibuya Station. Wahaha Fugetsu is a branch store of Fugetsu, the well known Okonomiyaki restaurant from Osaka who runs the business for over 60 years. The shop offers the authentic and classic taste of Okonomiyaki with the generous amount of various toppings such as pork, shrimp, squid and cheese. There are also other Teppanyaki (iron plate cooking) dishes such as Yakisoba (fried noodle), Modanyaki (Okonomiyaki with Yakisoba) and a la carte pan-fried dishes. The restaurant has homey Japanese style interior with friendly and relaxing atmosphere.

The Okonomiyaki at Wahaha Fugetsu Shibuya is made with selected ingredients and based on their original recipe. Each dish is made per order with the special technique of well-trained chefs. Therefore, all Fugetsu branches in Japan manage to provide the same classic taste of the main store in Tsuruhashi, Osaka. The freshly made Okonomiyaki are brought to each table with a built-in iron plate so it keeps the dish hot and sizzling while eating. Takeaway is also available at Wahaha Fugetsu. Their Okonomiyaki dishes are designed to be tasty even after it gets cold or re-heat with microwave!

If you wish to experience the real taste of Okonomiyaki just like in Osaka, Wahaha Fugetsu could be the perfect place offering the history of over 60 years!
