Tokyo Winter Illumination: Yomiuriland Jewel Illumination
Jewellumination is an annual winter illumination held at Yomuriland, Tokyo’s largest amusement park. Jewellumination is the the world’s first sparkling illumination using LEDs inspired by jewel colors produced by the world-renowned lighting designer Motoko Ishii. It’s one of the most popular winter illumination events in Tokyo and the largest-scale illumination in the Kanto area.

Jewellumination is an annual wonderland of light powered by LEDs inspired by jewel tones, created by renowned lighting designer Motoko Ishii. It transforms the park into a dreamlike realm shimmering with gemstone-like brilliance
Yomiuriland will host its 16th season of Jewellumination from 23 October 2025 to 5 April 2026. The event continues under the grand theme of “LIGHT is LOVE,” expressing love for people, nature, and the Earth. This year’s sub-theme is “LIGHT HOP⤴,” aiming to create a vibrant, fun, and uplifting experience for all visitors. The illumination is once again produced by Motoko Ishii and uses environmentally friendly “Green Power”.
Highlights for the 2025-2026 Season:
New “Jewelry Plaza”
The main entrance area will be transformed into a plaza inspired by the “LIGHT HOP⤴” theme, featuring energetic orange-based illuminations combined with gold and diamond colors.
Jewelry Grand Objet
The new Ferris wheel, “Sky-Go-LAND,” will feature a different light-up design on each side. One side will display a brilliant diamond-cut motif with 14 different jewel colors, while the other side will be elegantly lit with gold on the top half and pink on the bottom, representing the “LIGHT is LOVE” theme.
Spectacular Fountain Show
The highly popular and dynamic fountain show returns to the Wave Pool area, featuring a massive 15-meter-high water screen, 272 fountains, lasers, and flames.
Illuminated Attractions
A key feature of the event is the ability to enjoy the illuminations while riding the park’s attractions. Roller coasters and the Ferris wheel offer a panoramic view of the sparkling lights alongside the Tokyo city nightscape.
Famous Light Tunnels
The 180-meter-long “Jewelry Promenade” and the 140-meter-long “Crystal Passage” light tunnel will return with beautiful, crystal-themed designs.
