One of the most classic winter illumination events in Tokyo, Omotesando Illumination is back in 2023 winter! Tokyoite’s favourite champagne gold illumination can be seen near Harajuku and Shibuya, Tokyo!


Omotesando Illumination (表参道イルミネーション) is a popular winter illumination event in Tokyo which takes place at the popular shopping street, Omotesando near Harajuku and Shibuya area. The 1.1 km street is lined with 150 Zelkova trees which are lightened up with approx 90,000 LED lights in champagne gold colour during Christmas season. From Omotesando Station to Harajuku Station, the long shopping street has two pedestrian bridges where the iconic view of the illuminated street can be captured.

Omotesando Illumination is a perfect spot to enjoy watching illumination after shopping in Harajuku and Omotesando Street which are both popular shopping areas in Tokyo. Also, it’s not very far from the popular tourist spot, Shibuya. Omotesando illumination 2023 will be held from early December until Christmas day. Don’t miss a chance to see the most iconic winter view of Tokyo this Christmas!
