2018–2019 Tokyo Winter Illumination: Omotesando Illumination 2018
Omotesando Illumination (表参道イルミネーション) is a popular winter illumination event in Tokyo which takes place at the popular shopping street, Omotesando near Harajuku and Shibuya area. The 1.1 km street is lined with 150 Zelkova trees which are lightened up with approx 90,000 LED lights in champagne gold colour during Christmas season. From Omotesando Station to Harajuku Station, the long shopping street has two pedestrian bridges where the iconic view of the illuminated street can be captured.
Omotesando Illumination 2018 is a perfect spot to enjoy watching illumination after shopping in Harajuku and Omotesando Street which are both popular shopping areas in Tokyo. Also, it’s not very far from the popular tourist spot, Shibuya. Omotesando illumination 2018 is held for 27 days from 29 November to 25 December. Another spectacular winter illumination event is held at the popular shopping mall at Omotesando Street, Omotesando Hills during the Christmas season. OMOTESANDO HILLS CHRISTMAS 2018 with Panasonic Beauty features several illuminations and special decorations including the Light Curtain formed with 6,000 artificial icicles and the 7m tall Christmas Tree.
