Koishikawa Korakuen Garden (小石川後楽園) is located in Korakuen, Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo, and right next to the large leisure complex, Tokyo Dome. The garden was constructed in early Edo period and it is one of two surviving gardens of Tokugawa Clan in Tokyo (the other is Kyu Shiba Rikyu Garden).
The garden is approx 70,000 m2 large and consists of 67 scenic objects and scenery including ponds, stones, trees and bridges. It’s considered as one of the most beautiful and spectacular Japanese gardens exists today.
So when is the best time to visit Koishikawa Korakuen Garden??
The garden is a very attractive place to visit all year round, and there are many different seasonal trees and flowers blooms on each season. Yet, most people visit there during cherry blossoms and autumn leaves seasons, which is early April and late November to early December. Enjoy a pleasant moment in a peaceful Japanese garden while you are in a center of Tokyo!
