Detective Conan Celebrates the 30th Anniversary with Nation-Wide Exhibition in 2024

Detective Conan a.k.a. Case Closed, is one of the most popular Japanese manga and anime series of all time. Written by Gosho Aoyama, Detective Conan has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday since 1994 and has sold over 250 million copies worldwide so far. The series was also adapted to TV anime series and over 20 movies have been produced.

2024 will be a special year for the Detective Conan series and its fans as they celebrate the 30th anniversary since it started serialization in Weekly Shonen Sunday in January 1994.

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the series, a special event “30th Anniversary Detective Conan Exhibition” will be held at Ikebukuro Sunshine City from January 2024, then it’s scheduled to tour cities across Japan including Fukuoka, Sapporo, Osaka and more.

This nation-wide exhibition will delve into the history and charm of the Detective Conan series that has been fascinating fans across the world for many years.

Starting with the introduction area where you can look back the 30-year history of the series, it will exhibit the works divided into 6 themes; words, love, mystery, Hannin, justice and magic. At the end of the exhibition, there is a theater space with a video footage with the history of Detective Conan. There will be also a special exhibition room of the write Gosho Aoyama with valuable initial materials of Detective Conan as well as photo spots featuring original illustrations drawn for this event will be available, too.

At the exhibition shop, there will be a wide range of original merchandise including keyring, tin badge, acrylic stand, t-shirt, towel, etc. Here are some of goods available at the 30th Anniversary Detective Conan exhibition!
