Sumida Park Cherry Blossoms

Best Places to See Cherry Blossoms in Tokyo: Sumida Park

Sumida Park (隅田公園) is one of the best places to see cherry blossoms in Tokyo which is located along Sumida River. It’s very accessible from some of popular tourist sites such as Asakusa and Tokyo Skytree. Several popular events are held at Sumida Park through the year including Sumida River Fireworks Festival.

Around 1,000 cherry trees are lined on both side of the rive and stretches for about 1 km. It’s a popular cherry blossom viewing spot as the stunning view of Tokyo Skytree can be enjoyed together. The sightseeing boats are available at Sumida River and it’s a great way to enjoy the special view of the city and cherry blossoms from the water.

During the peak blooming period, a cherry blossom festival (Sumida Park Sakura Matsuri) will be held with some food and drink vendors as well as light-up for cherry blossoms at night. Tokyo Skytree is also illuminated at night in various colours, so I highly recommend you this place for night time photography 😉
