Sometaro (染太郎) is one of the most popular restaurants in Asakusa area, the historic capital of Tokyo. Sometaro serves delicious Okonomiyaki dishes (Japanese savoury pancake) with an authentic recepi from 1937 since their establishment. The long-time-beloved restaurant offers very historical atmosphere with cosy and rustic interior which makes you feel like being back in the post war time of Japan. It’s one of the strongest reasons why Sometaro attracts foreign visitors.
Besides their significant Okonomiyaki dishes, there are several side dishes cooked freshly on the iron griddle attached on the table. You can either ask them to cook your dishes or you can try cook by yourself. Sometaro is located in the heart of Asakusa area, and can be reached within 10 mins both from the station and the famous landmarks of the area, Sensoji Temple.
