Pikachu Honey Cream Latte
The star beverage of the collaboration — the Pikachu Honey Cream Latte — was born out of the “Pokémon + Starbucks Barista Battle” a internal contest that received over 700 drink recipe submissions from Starbucks baristas across Japan. The winning concept was created by Junko Nitta from the Koriyama Asaka store in Fukushima Prefecture.
The latte translates Pikachu’s yellow into the gold of honey. It is an iced espresso drink sweetened with honey, with caramel sauce working in the background to round out the finish.
Espresso poured over the yellow base creates a brown gradient that mimics the stripes on Pikachu’s back. Chocolate sauce is drizzled in a zigzag to suggest its ears, and heart-shaped toppings on the honey whipped cream stand in for its red cheeks.
Enjoy the visual layout first, then stir 4 to 5 times to let the honey whipped cream melt smoothly into the coffee.
Ways to customize
- Add an espresso shot for a more bitter, coffee-forward cup.
- Add extra honey if you want it sweeter still.
- Switch to almond milk for a toasty, nutty note.
Free sticker with every cup
Each latte comes with one original sticker featuring the collaboration artwork, while supplies last. The drink contains honey.

Before you go
Starbucks expects crowds, and has set purchase limits for the first days.
- In stores: from September 30 to October 2, each customer may buy only one of each collaboration item (drinks excluded). Stores ask customers not to call about stock.
- Drive-thrus: collaboration goods will not be sold in drive-thru lanes for several hours after opening on launch day; timing varies by store.
- Online store: sales are scheduled to open around 6:00 a.m. on September 30, with a limit of one of each item per order on day one. A virtual waiting room manages traffic, and waiting before 6:00 a.m. does not guarantee first place in line.
The 2026 Pokémon x Starbucks collaboration brings together a limited-edition drink, collectible merchandise and digital gifts around a shared coffee-themed adventure.
For Pokémon fans visiting Japan in early autumn, the Pikachu Honey Cream Latte offers a limited opportunity to try the collaboration in person, while the reusable cups, bottles, tumblers and other merchandise provide more lasting souvenirs.
With the drink available for only a little over a week and the merchandise sold while stocks last, 30 September 2026 is the key date to remember for the Pokémon x Starbucks launch in Japan.
