Kyubey (久兵衛) is one of the best and the most famous Sushi restaurants in Tokyo, and possibly in the whole world.
Keeping it their tradition, Sushi Kyubey has been serving the best quality Sushi with the selected fresh seafood ingredients and chefs’ finest techniques since 1935. Kyubey attracts and impresses guests not only in Japan, but from all over the world, and it’s often described “a mecca for sushi lovers”. The restaurant is now owned by Yosuke Imada, a second generation manager and renowned Sushi chef. Kyubey currently has 5 branches in Tokyo and Osaka in total, and the main restaurant is located in Ginza, Tokyo.

Kyubey is often compared with another greatest Sushi restaurant in Tokyo, the Michelin three starred Sukiyabashi Jiro, which is also located in Ginza area. While Sukiyabashi Jiro is extremely hard to book table, Kyubey could be slightly easier and more affordable, yet the quality and the taste of Sushi is comparable.
Kyubey hasn’t got a star from Michelin guide for a several years, yet it was chosen as the second best restaurant in the whole world in 2018 by La Liste, which is another honorable and the most influential global food guide.
