Aoshima Shokudo: Akihabara’s Busiest Ramen Shop!

Aoshima Shokudo: Simple yet the Best Shoyu (Soya Sauce) Ramen in Akihabara

Aoshima Shokudo (青島食堂) is one of the busiest ramen restaurants in Tokyo. You can tell the popularity of the place as there is always a long waiting line outside the shop.

Aoshima Shokudo serves authentic regional Ramen from Niigata and the main branch is located in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture, which is extremely popular among locals.

The shop offers only one kind of Ramen on the menu: Aoshima Ramen. The soup of Aoshima Ramen is Shoyu (soya sauce) based and very simple taste that makes most Japanese people feel nostalgic and somethings that they have been grown up eating.

The simple yet aromatic, ginger and soya sauce based soup fascinates a lot of visitors, and even some of the customers come to try their signature bowl of Ramen even from outside of Tokyo!

Aoshima Ramen comes with authentic Ramen toppings such as Naruto (fish cake), Menma (bamboo shoot), seaweed, spinach, chopped leek and a slice of Chashu (braised pork belly). Extra toppings can be added with an additional charge. Their homemade Chashu (braised pork) is also highly recommended! Try Aoshima Chashu Ramen that comes with extra Chashu toppings!

The shop is open from 11 am to 6 pm, but it tends to close earlier since their soup runs out before the closing time!

Akihabara is one of the most competitive districts in Tokyo among Ramen restaurants, but I guess Aoshima Shokudo takes one step forward from others with their simple yet beloved Shoyu Ramen!
