Tokyo Winter Illumination: MIDTOWN CHRISTMAS
Tokyo Midtown is hosting a special winter event “MIDTOWN CHRISTMAS”, featuring gorgeous Christmas illuminations and installations as well as Tokyo’s largest outdoor skate rink. Don’t miss one of the best winter illumination events in Tokyo this winter!!
Tokyo Midtown is a large multi-purpose complex, consisting of numbers of facilities such as shops, restaurants, cafes, museums, hotel, office, residences, garden and etc. It’s located in Roppongi area, and not too far from the similar commercial complex building, Roppongi Hills.
In 2025 winter, Tokyo Midtown is hosting a special illumination event “MIDTOWN CHRISTMAS 2025”, featuring a variety of festive contents that can be enjoyed both outdoor and indoor, including breathtaking illuminations, Christmas trees, festive decorations, Christmas marche, live ensemble performance and a large ice skate rink. Don’t miss one of the hottest events to visit in Tokyo this winter!
This year’s concept is “Your Christmas Story”. As sparkling illuminations light up the Midtown Garden, the moment you step inside, your very own special Christmas story begins.
In the Midtown Garden, the popular illumination from last year returns with a magical scene of shimmering bubbles and softly falling snow, evoking the beauty of a white Christmas. The lights move in harmony with an original soundtrack, creating a dramatic symphony of light and sound for all to enjoy.
Adding to the enchantment, a real fir tree wrapped in golden light and the “Path of Gold”, a walkway bathed in gentle golden illumination, will make this winter night one to remember.
Inside the building, you’ll find even more heart-warming scenes of Christmas joy — including the “Santa Tree,” a dazzling display featuring around 1,600 Santas, and the “Christmas Market,” filled with delightful seasonal items that bring the holiday spirit to life. Discover “Your Christmas Story” at Tokyo Midtown, a one-of-a-kind experience that shines only this winter.
One of the largest outdoor ice skating rinks in Tokyo, MIDTOWN ICE RINK will also open for a limited time at the expansive Grass Square area, which both kids and adult can enjoy staking in day and night. This year, it’s collaborating with the skin care brand Yunth and the skate rink can be enjoyed until late February. Rental facilities such as shoes and sleds are available at the site.
Tokyo Midtown could be one of the most dreamy and romantic places to be in Tokyo this winter, and walking around there will simply make you feel like being in a winter wonderland. Moreover, some of restaurants and bars offers amazing overlook views of the illumination. Make your night a bit more special by visiting MIDTOWN CHRISTMAS this winter!
