In this article, I will share ten events in Tokyo during this week, and I hope this will help you find some exciting events in Tokyo that you can enjoy.
Events During the Summer in Japan
Similar to other countries, summer in Japan is the most eventful season of the year. Families and friends get together for events, activities, and trips. Some people love to take this opportunity to escape from the city and go to the beach or the mountains. Other people prefer staying in Tokyo and attending the many events that take place during the summer.
Summer in Japan refers to mid-June through mid-September. Although the first two months tend to be rainy, exciting events such as matsuri and Fireworks festivals take place in July and August.
When it comes to Japanese traditional events, there is Marine Day (海の日) and Japanese Summer Star Festival (七夕) in July, Mountain Day (山の日) in August, and Respect for the Aged Day (敬老の日) in September. Other than this, Obon (お盆) takes place in either mid-August or mid-July. Obon is a Buddhist festival that welcomes the spirits of your ancestors, and it is one of Japan’s most important holidays.

Greetings to all mommies I am a supermom from Philippines. Previously, I worked and lived in Dubai for seven years, until 2015 the year I moved in Japan. Currently, I am happily settled here with my Japanese husband and our 7 months old baby. I could only describe my almost 6 years of living here as a roller coaster ride more so, after I gave birth to my son. Japan had changed me in ways unimaginable. It has influence my lifestyle, my perceptions and beliefs. I was able to witness firsthand the pros and cons of living in the country. From their language, culture and ethnicity, the people, place and in work. Those years were enough to give me quite personal and memorable experiences which I would be more than delighted to share with you.
