Tokyo Disney Resort 2026 Special Events and Best Time to Visit
Tokyo Disney Resort is a popular place to visit for both Japanese and international visitors all year round; some people living in Japan will even go several time in a single year. There are many reasons for this, but most notably is because of the seasonal events that occur during the year.
Whatever day you decide to go visit Tokyo Disneyland or DisneySea, it is most probable that there will be an ongoing event on that day. Whether that is new years event, summer event, or Christmas event, you will be guaranteed to have a unique and exciting experience that you won’t be able to have on another season.
In this article, I will introduce to you the schedule of both Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea for 2026. If you are interested in visiting Tokyo Disney Resort during any of these seasonal events, be sure to check the dates of these events to not miss out on them!

Tokyo Disney Resort
Before going to the yearly schedule, let’s quickly review what Tokyo Disney Resort actually is. Tokyo Disney Resort is one of the six Disney resorts in the world, consisting of two parks being Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. These two parks, even when seen separately, rank between the top most visited theme parks in the world.
There are many reasons for its great popularity such as having the most recognizable characters, exciting attractions, and unique and tasty foods. There are even hotels within the resort where you can stay without breaking the magical atmosphere of Disney. It is also very accessible, being located in Urayasu city, Chiba prefecture, which is close from central Tokyo.
And as I previously mentioned in the beginning, seasonal events are another thing that make Tokyo Disney Resort such a popular place to visit no matter what season it is. The cool thing is that even though the same events happen simultaneously at both parks, The content of the events will be different, making it even more enticing to go visit both parks.
Tokyo Disneyland Event Schedule in 2026
New Year’s Special Event 2026 (Date: 1 to 12 January 2026)

New Year’s in Disney is an annual event at Tokyo Disney Resort in celebration of the holiday season. Every year there are unique activities and events prepared by Disney friends and there will be a daily “New Year’s Greetings” parade with all your favorite Disney characters dressed in traditional Japanese style.
Disney Pal-palooza Minnie’s Funderland (Date: 14 January to 2 March 2026)

The Special Disney Pal-Palooza event Minnie’s Funderland will undergo a dazzling transformation in a new nighttime program, “Fundernight”. Day or night, guests can immerse themselves in a Funderland filled to the brim with Minnie’s charm!
It’s a Small World with Groot (Date: 27 December 2025~)

It’s a Small World with Groot is a limited-period program event at Disneyland featuring Groot and the other characters from Marvel the Guardians of the Galaxy. Offer a unique and exciting experience with activities, rides, decorations, displays, programs, entertainment, and music. In addition, themed menus and merchandise inspired by the characters can be enjoyed and purchased.
Disney Pal-palooza Venellope’s Sweets Pop World (Date: 9 April to 30 June 2026)

The 6th edition of Disney Pal-palooza is Venellope’s Sweets Pop World, transforming the park into the world of sweets imagined by Venellope from the Disney film Wreck it Ralph. Leading up to the event, decorations will be put into place, special menus will be available, and some special merchandise will be on sale from 9 March.
Funtime with Toy Story 5 (Date: 2 July to 14 September 2026)
To celebrate the Japanese release of the latest Disney & Pixar film, “Toy Story 5,” in summer 2026, Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea will be holding a special event, “Funtime with Toy Story 5.” At Tokyo Disneyland, a stamp rally will be held where guests can enjoy spotting characters, and special menus will be sold. At Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, decorations and special merchandise will be available.
Summer Cool Off at Tokyo Disney Resort (Date: 2 July to 14 September 2026)

Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea will be holding a special event, “Summer Cool-Off at Tokyo Disney Resort.” Each park will feature a soaking wet program, allowing you to enjoy a refreshing and special summer filled with incredibly happy moments.
Disney Halloween 2026 (Date: 16 September to 31 October 2026)

One of the biggest Halloween celebrations in Japan takes place here at Disneyland! This halloween event features many special attractions and it’s a great chance to visit the park in your favorite Disney character’s costume.
Disney Christmas 2026 (Date: 11 November to 25 December 2026)

Right after the Halloween event has finished, you will be able to enjoy the final event of the year which is the Disney Christmas event. What better way to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere than with your favorite Disney characters and your special people at this magical land?
Tokyo DisneySea Event Schedule in 2026
New Year’s Special Event 2026 (Date: 1 to 12 January 2026)

Mickey Mouse and the Disney Friends will be dressed in gorgeous traditional Japanese clothing to greet the New Year. The park entrance will be decorated with kadomatsu (traditional Japanese pine decorations) in honor of the horse, the zodiac sign for 2026, and special New Year’s merchandise and menus will be available for purchase.
Disney Story Beyond (Date: 14 January to 19 March 2026)
The third installment of the special event “Disney Story Beyond”, which will allow guests to enjoy the world of the park even more, will be held in the “Palazzo Canal” area in Mediterranean Harbor. In addition, the “Tower of Terror” attraction will be transformed into a special version called “Tower of Terror Unlimited,” offering even more thrills than usual.
Tokyo DisneySea 25th Anniversary Sparkling Jubilee (Date: 15 April 2026 to 31 March 2027)

Tokyo DisneySea opened in 2001 as the world’s only ocean-themed Disney theme park, and in 2024 will add its eighth themed port, Fantasy Springs. Hoping that the park’s ever-more-sparkling story will continue, the park will hold an anniversary event to commemorate its 25th anniversary, “Tokyo DisneySea 25th Anniversary Sparkling Jubilee”.
Tokyo DisneySea Food & Wine Festival (Date: 15 April to 30 June 2026)

The food event at Tokyo DisneySea offers a variety of set meals and snacks as well as a variety of beverages such as wine from around the world.

Lazos del la Familia (Date: 16 September to 2 November 2026)

At Lost River Delta in Tokyo DisneySea, the special event “Razos de la Familia” will continue to be held in 2026, inspired by the traditional Mexican culture of “Dia de los Muertos” (Spanish for “Day of the Dead”), which was also depicted in the Disney & Pixar film “Coco.”
Disney Christmas 2026 (Date: 11 November to 25 December 2026)

Right after the Halloween event has finished, you will be able to enjoy the final event of the year which is the Disney Christmas event. What better way to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere than with your favorite Disney characters and your special people at this magical land?
