ANA InterContinental Tokyo Unveils Unkai’s New Degustation Set & Sweets Buffet
A Refined Japanese Dining Experience
For travelers visiting Tokyo who wish to experience authentic Japanese cuisine while placing great importance on ingredient quality and culinary detail, ANA InterContinental Tokyo stands out as a top choice not only for accommodation, but also for food enthusiasts.
The hotel’s renowned Japanese restaurant, Unkai, officially introduces a new dining menu, “Japanese Degustation Set & Sweets Buffet,” starting on January 7, 2026. This new offering combines traditional kaiseki-style cuisine centered on seasonal ingredients with an all-you-can-enjoy selection of Japanese and Western sweets, creating a dining experience that balances both visual elegance and refined flavors.

In the following sections, we take a closer look at the distinctive charm and culinary philosophy behind Unkai at ANA InterContinental Tokyo.
About Unkai Japanese Restaurant
Located on the third floor of ANA InterContinental Tokyo, Unkai welcomes guests into a calm and sophisticated Japanese setting from the moment they step inside. The restaurant overlooks a beautiful and tranquil Japanese garden, complete with a pond and cascading waterfall. While dining, guests can enjoy the therapeutic sight of koi swimming gracefully through the water, enhancing the serene atmosphere.

Unkai features a variety of seating options, including glass-front dining areas, traditional tatami private rooms, and fully enclosed private spaces, making it suitable for business entertaining, family gatherings, and special occasions such as anniversaries.

New Menu for 2026:Japanese Degustation Set & Sweets Buffet
The newly launched menu reflects the head chef’s dedication to seasonal flavors and thoughtful craftsmanship. Its defining feature lies in the pairing of a kaiseki-style degustation set focused on seasonal ingredients with a sweets buffet that guests can enjoy freely, offering a well-paced and satisfying dining experience.
Japanese Degustation Set

Presented on an elegant white wooden tray, the Japanese Degustation Set showcases a variety of winter seasonal dishes served in small portions. Each item highlights the natural aroma and texture of the ingredients. The menu includes dishes such as a mini rice bowl topped with fresh bluefin tuna, thinly sliced sea bream sashimi, soy milk–simmered tofu, and seasonal vegetable tempura. Through traditional Japanese culinary techniques, the set delicately expresses the layered flavors of winter ingredients.
Seafood was a highlight of the menu, leaving a strong impression throughout the meal. From the exceptionally fresh seafood rice bowl and delicate sea bream sashimi to the richly flavored salmon roe, each dish showcased the quality of the ingredients. The refined porcelain tableware used for presentation further elevated the experience, making it a true celebration of both taste and visual elegance.
Japanese Sweets Buffet

The Japanese Sweets Buffet offers unlimited access to a refined selection of desserts, created collaboratively by Unkai’s chefs and the hotel’s pastry team. From January, the dessert theme centers on strawberries, featuring items such as strawberry macarons, strawberry jelly, strawberry mousse, matcha desserts, and a variety of traditional Japanese sweets. The combination of Japanese and Western confections provides a well-balanced sweetness that concludes the meal on a delightful note.

Beyond the beautifully crafted sweets, the Japanese and black teas here are also highly recommended. The selection appears to change with the seasons, offering a warm and distinctive tea experience that gently complements the meal and leaves a lasting impression.
