Rilakkuma is a Japanese bear character produced by San-X. The name Rilakkuma is formed by a combination of the word “relax” and “kuma” (the Japanese word for bear), and the laidback bear and friends have been popular in Japan and overseas since its debut in 2003.
One of the most beloved characters from the Rilakkuma franchise, Korilakkuma is a white bear cub with a red button on its chest, known for its cheeky personality and passion to play tricks. The character made the first appearance in 2004, one year after Rilakkuma was launched.
It’s the 20th anniversary of Korilakkuma in 2004, and to celebrate the special year, the Korilakkuma 20th Anniversary Cafe will open for a limited time, serving a variety of dishes and desserts inspired by adorable Korilakkuma and other characters.
The menu includes a wide range of dishes, desserts and drinks such as omurice served with Korilakkuma shaped rice holding a strawberry, burger plate of Rilakkuma and Kiiroitori, cold pasta with espuma, anniversary cake and strawberry smoothie. There will be also original merchandise sold exclusively at the cafe, including magnets, acrylic keyrings and towels.
The limited-time Korilakkuma themed cafe will open from 13 June until 28 July 2024 at Tokyo Solamachi, a shopping complex situated at the base of Tokyo Skytree.
