Aomori

Aomori is the northernmost prefecture of Japan's main island. It is proud of seasonal treasures including beautiful cherry blossoms in spring and powder snow in winter.

The virgin beech forests Shirakami Sanchi is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Nebuta Festival, one of the biggest summer festivals in Japan, attracts a few million people every summer.

You can easily reach Aomori from Tokyo area by Shinkansen within 3 hours.
